Lorne turned on the sun again for a record entry of close to 6,000.
The Amy's Granfondo continues to be an incredibly well run event with its slick organization and closed roads allowing safe passage for this massive field.
The event was again run and participated in good spirits with good etiquette and strong crowd support.
The devil was back to support this time - also supporting sat nights 200m hill climb!
Five ecocyclo riders enjoyed solid performances in the top quarter of the field with Robbie Hannibal improving last years time, Steven Podmore and Paul Hutton (his first event for Ecocyclo) getting under the 4hr mark and Nick Gatland re-motivating himself for next year after 6 months off the bike ( the pressures of house renovations).
Mary Willis got one step closer to the finish. Last year she helped out a medical problem and this year she suffered cramps herself just 12km from the finish. Scones and jam cured them (see pic) but not in time to make the finish. Next year no doubt Mary will complete this last tough step (3 little climbs in last 10km) of this very challenging course.
Thanks to Paul, Steven Robbie and Mary!
